(This does not apply to Adult classes except for footwear)
New pupils may attend wearing simply leggings and a close-fitting T-shirt, or a bathing costume for the first few weeks. Hair should always be tied back using stretchy bobbles - not loose scrunchies or plastic/metal accessories. Loose hair should be fastened off the face. (We have found that long fringes or hair hanging over the face can seriously damage the posture of young people and cause squinting and this is not just advice relative to dancing.) We may be able to lend ballet shoes to you for your first few lessons, otherwise dance barefoot. We have less tap-shoes to lend, so please bring old, flexible, hard-soled shoes, until you are ready to buy your own tap shoes. When pupils have settled into classes they will need to dress as follows:
Hair must be tied back and gripped or gelled off the face unless a short fringe which does not reach the eyes.
Ballet Shoes - Pink soft leather with elastic. Ballet shoes should also be worn for Modern and Lyrical Lessons until Grade 1. Split soles from Grade 3 Ballet.
Tap Shoes - Black PU bar tie with low heels (Katz recommended). From Grade 2, pupils must have heel taps. Jazz Taps are recommended for Adults and split soles for Grade 4 upwards. Please don't buy shoes which need heel taps putting on separately, these hack up the floor.
Bare Feet are necessary for Acrobatics.
Jazz Shoes - Black SPLIT SOLE Jazz shoes (not full sole suede or stiff rubber. Jazz boots and sneakers are NOT ALLOWED.

Fees
New Pupils may pay weekly for their classes during the first half-term. Then when the next half term starts, fees are payable in full on the first day of that half term. These are at a lower rate than weekly payments.
Existing pupils pay by the half-term, at the first lesson of each half-term. It is now also possible for long established pupils to pay by Standing Order over 10 months.
Prompt Payment attracts a 7% discount, which is paid into the School's Costume Club in the pupil's name, so as to reduce costs at the time of the next show.
Some pupils only taking 1 or 2 subjects have now opted to pay for a year in advance, attracting 10% discount.
There is no reduction for missed classes - pupils are encouraged to attend every week, as erratic attendance prevents progress and can result in falling behind other members of the class. We do accept that there are reasons why pupils miss the occasional class, and when this happens we appreciate it if parents inform us when this happens. Pupils who fall behind their group due to missing classes will need to arrange private lessons to catch up and avoid holding up their group.
